If you missed it on our Instagram, we’ve been featuring photos from C+F’s gorgeous Gasparilla Island wedding weekend! The fun-filled weekend was packed with all sorts of different events for the guests, but today we’re going to give you the inside look at their beautiful and creative reception.

Since all of their guests were from out of town (many even overseas) they really wanted their whole wedding weekend to feel like a vacation. Since C+F are both such keen travelers, they wanted to incorporate places they had visited together and other elements of travel into the reception. After cocktail hour, guests headed into the reception where they found their name on a little handmaid paper airplane. The paper planes were used as escort cards and had the name of a city name written on each one. Each table had a vintage looking globe in the center with the name of a city beautifully written on it in gold. Guests matched up their paper planes to the globes and that is how they found their tables! The gorgeous wooden map was made by Host & Toast and the globes and stationary were the amazing work of Wouldn’t It Be Lovely!

Each table also included personalized stationery related to that city and menus that explained why the city was significant to C+F. It was such a fun and creative touch!

From the pale blues and pinks in the watercolor invitations to the navy blue napkins and vibrant fuchsia flowers on the tables, it all tied together perfectly.

The lanterns from the ceremony were reused at the reception as centerpieces, which looked so lovely with the lush pink blooms. We used The Gasparilla Inn’s traditional china and bamboo silverware and then incorporated some more modern looking wine glasses to keep the contemporary feel that C wanted. Rather than having printed name cards, we used wine pens to write the guests names on the glasses instead.

The gluten free cake had 3 different flavored tiers – the top was red velvet with cream cheese buttercream, the middle tier was lemon and poppyseed with vanilla cream and the top tier was chocolate with chocolate cream (Holy YUM!).

These two made sure guests were taking advantage of the dance floor all night long with music from a live band!

If you thought the fun ended after the reception, think again! Stay tuned for details on the afterparty that followed C+F’s beautiful, fun-filled reception.
