Happy Thursday!
Tonight was the Lakeland Christmas Parade- what a blast! Kettle corn, fireworks, and Christmas music- oh what a night. We do so enjoy family friendly events, as well as all of the crazy floats! However, a night like tonight made us want to jump into a cup of hot chocolate instead of drinking it.
For Day 2 of our Holiday Hoopla, we thought we might treat you to a recipe for a warm holiday drink. We’ve served these hot toddies at a few events this fall, and it seems to be a crowd favorite.
We found the recipe on ErinEverAfter, and are SO glad that we did!
What you will need (for one cup):
– 3/4 cup of Apple Cider
– 2 oz. Whiskey (We used Jameson)
– Honey (to coat the bottom of the glass)
– (1) Cinnamon Stick
– (2) Cloves
– An Apple Slice (garnish)
We coated the bottom of the cups, poured in the whiskey, and then the cider (which we had heated on the stovetop). Just add the apple garnish, cloves, and cinnamon stick.
This drink is just as fabulous without the alcohol- trust us.
The honey/clove/cinnamon sticks perfect our morning “pick me up.”
Now go sip ’til your heart’s content…
Love it! Think I’ll head into the kitchen and make some now. 🙂
