We’re beyond delighted to get to share the images from the 4th annual Starlit Supper with you! Each year, we have the absolute privilege of teaming up with Lauren from Every Last Detail to host this incredible evening. It’s an evening of inspiration, collaboration and networking for some of the top central Florida wedding vendors.
The premise of the evening is that we put together a rehearsal dinner inspired styled shoot, and invite the vendors to show up for a cocktail hour of mingling and a family-style dinner. To us, being able to meet new faces is always a treat! I’ve forged some of my deepest friendships from these evenings, and love being around like-minded professionals who truly love their clients.
If you saw the feature yesterday, you were able to see all of the vendors and their contributions to the event. We wrote a (laughably) long recap of the evening, but we certainly couldn’t leave out any of the incredible details. So, we thought we would share something a bit more fun + personal over here: our design process.
So, where did we begin?
Right here. The doorstep of Rocking H Ranch. We’ve been blessed work at this gorgeous property several times in the past. This year, we wanted to bring something a bit more clean, sophisticated and layered than any Southern event we’ve held there. We began pulling images to create our inspiration boards.
1) This enamel pitcher was really the beginning of the inspiration for us. We wanted the event to feel soft and fresh after last year’s event was more bold and structured. When we saw this pitcher, it screamed Southern to us. However, that little hint of the black rim really helped bring a crisp finish to the image.
2) This amazing invitation suite inspired us with the hand drawn sketch of the couple, as well as the soft pale blue. It reminded us of the dusty miller peeking out of the pitcher, and really drew us to bringing in the blue to the color palette. Oh, and do you see that envelope liner? It solidified the idea of bringing in subtle, but stark, black lines.
3) I spotted this linen over on Nuage’s site, and loved the combination of metallics. We have loved mixing metals in our events for the past year, and the layered look of the linen again hinted at the textured, raw vibe we were searching for.
4) And finally, we then reached out to Malindy Elene Bridal, as bridal gowns often help us hone in on the formality and style of the event. We loved this image of the bride in the window- it was so feminine but the building itself is in a very natural, layered looked.
At that point, we finalized the color palette (knowing that we wanted to add in an array of metallics and the black lines). And then started sketching! We’ve found sketching to be the best way to create unique concepts, as well as communicate them to our staff.
